The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero has given permission for Ofgem to over-allocate vouchers by up to £50 million in this financial year, to a total of up to £200 million, to provide certainty that vouchers will continue to be available for the remainder of the financial year.
Whilst it is not clear whether this pulls forward a proportion of the 2025-26 budget, the fact that a possible hiatus in voucher allocations is being avoided is extremely welcome news. HPF is delighted that the BUS team at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has responded so positively and quickly to the budget concerns raised by the trade bodies, working in unison.
We can now look forward to a record year for domestic heat pump deployment in the UK.
